Let’s talk about how December always seems to show up with a full calendar in its hands.

Choir concerts.
Softball practices squeezed in before (and even after!) the sun sets.
Classroom parties.
Gift exchanges.
Reminders I swear I already set but somehow missed.
And my youngest asking, “When are we baking cookies?” before I’ve even had a chance to breathe.

Last night, after dropping everyone where they needed to be, picking them up again, making dinner, and running through the day’s to-dos in my head for the fifth time… I turned on the sweetest (remote controlled!) tea light candles I found on Amazon in the living room.

And everything felt softer for a moment.

Not perfect.
Not quiet.
Just…cozier.

That’s all I want this December — tiny moments of warmth tucked inside the busy. Cozy pockets of real life that are reminders that this season doesn’t have to be picture perfect to matter. It just has to be honest. Lived-in. Full of the people we love, doing the best we can. That is where the real magic lives.

So here’s to a month of slowing down when we can, soaking in the small things, and letting warm light bring a little peace into the chaos.
